Lieutenant Anthony Mayeaux Educators Fund

The Anthony Mayeaux Educators Fund is a grant program established in the honor of Lt. Anthony Mayeaux. This program was created to help what Anthony saw as our greatest assets..children. This fund provides Jefferson Parish Teachers with funds needed to purchase vital classroom supplies or equipment to further assist in the education of students.
In order to qualify for this program, teachers must apply by email with requests for a specific need for the classroom. Requests must be received between July 1st and August 1st of each calendar year. Grants from this program will range between $250.00 dollars and $1000.00 dollars and are available for teachers in Jefferson Parish Schools. Amounts awarded will be determined by Barran's Bears and the Mayeaux Family.
Requests should provide a specific description of items that will be purchased using the Anthony Mayeaux Educators Fund Grant and all items must be used in the classroom for educational purposes. Please also provide information in regards to the grade level taught and basic school information. (Where you teach, how long you have been a teacher etc.)

Scarlett's "Blankets and Bears Program"
HELPING FIND COMFORT
Scarlett's "Blankets and Bears" program is a Barrans Bears initiative that provides blankets to Shelters for Women and Children, many of whom are fleeing Domestic Violence. Although it doesn't solve the big problem, blankets and bears can as Scarlett so lovingly said, "help mommies stay warm, and help kids feel safe", while living in a shelter.
